Well i kinda like the old titles better, they were more fun. But either is better than what we have now. Very Happy

These look good, but giving it some more thought:

Since ranks are based entirely on post counts, quantity and not quality, perhaps they should reflect that. As we know, a high post count doe not necessarily mean someone is knowledgeable or a technical expert. So, how about something like:

1 - Newbie
25 - Associate
100 - Regular
500 - Tenured
1000 - Experienced
5000 - Very Experienced
7500 - Old-Timer
10000 - Cranky Old Fart

Any other ideas, or go with the previous set?

Thanks.

True, and we can't let one person who's a "trail guide", despite never taking his truck off-road, spoil the fun. Laughing

I'll set them up.

Thanks.

Sweet! You should make a special case for our resident clown and title him "The One and Only"

The new ranks are now in place. They're retroactive, so any changed ranks will now appear on all posts.

Perhaps when we upgrade forum software we can extend it via a plugin such that titles can be a function of how many people find your posts useful. Then no matter how many erroneous, insidious, ridiculous, superfluous posts you make, you won't level up. Heh, "level up"<-- I play too many video games.

Example, you have a thumbs up or thumbs down icon for an individual post, then your title rank is simply a function of how many thumbs up you get.

vBulletin sort of has this in the sense that you can "thank" a user for a specific post.

We could call the plugin, the "anti-mubar plugin".
