BBCode is what the forum uses for features such as bold, italics, underline, lists, font size and color, quoting, etc. If you have BBCode disabled in your profile or in an individual message, these features will not work. Instead, the tags used for these features will appear as text in your message.
It is recommended that you have BBCode enabled in your profile. It is enabled by default, so the only way it can be turned off is if a user actually turns it off. Please do not turn it off.
In your profile under "Preferences", there is a line that says "Always allow BBCode:" with checkboxes. Please keep that set to "Yes".
There are cases where users have BBCode turned off, yet quote previous messages. The quote function does not work for their posts for this reason, so you will see quote tags in messages they post. If you are seeing quote, or other tags, in your messages, you should check your BBCode setting in your profile. If you see the checkbox next to "Disable BBCode in this post" (it's directly below the text box where you type your message) checked, it means BBCode is disabled in your profile.
There is also an option to disable BBCode in an individual post. Please don't use this option unless you have a specific reason to have BBCode tags intentionally displayed as text.

If you want to fix any messages you have posted with BBCode disabled, you can. Go to the message and click on the "edit" button. Then look below the text box where you typed your message and find the line that says "Disable BBCode in this post". UN-check that box, then submit the change. _________________ Serving the Hummer community since 1996 |
