Folks,

It is possible that the PM feature is broken. I've received notifications that I have new PMs, but when I check there are none. If someone has PMed me in the last day, it may be a good idea to email me instead, especially if it was important! Laughing

(Bob, just a heads up, and please delete this thread if/when appropriate!)

I have a feeling the issue is that the PMs were sent while we were on the mirror server....the PMs are probably still residing on that server, I will investigate a solution.

There is another possibility. The sender has the option to delete a
PM before it's picked up by the recipient. It's all explained here:

http://www.hummernetworkforums.....p?t=195801

Note the third non-indented paragraph, which starts "If you receive an
e-mail notification....".

Could this be related to the site being down last night?

No. PMs could not be sent while the forum was offline. It's either a case of the sender having deleted it, or a snafu caused by switching back and forth between the main forum server and the backup. Switching can only be done manually, and there was no one available overnight to do it.

My money is on it having been deleted by the sender before being read by the recipient. Nothing unusual about that. It's how PMs work. See the link cited above.

The answer probably depends on the time the e-mail notification of the PM was received. Do you still have it? What's the date/time stamp? If it was today, then the PM was deleted by the sender. There has been no switching between main and backup today.

Peter,

If you still have the email that told you about a PM, forward it to me, I can look at it and figure this mess out.

Thanks,
