Off-topic posts should be made to the Off-Topic Forum, not to any of the Hummer forums. If you think your off-topic post will get more attention if you post it to a Hummer forum, you are mistaken. The Off-Topic Forum gets plenty of attention and activity

If you start a new topic in one of the Hummer forums with "OT" or "Off Topic" in the subject line, or otherwise state that it is off-topic, you are sending a message to everyone that it's OK to post off-topic material there, which it is not. This leaves no choice. Such topics must be moved to the off-topic forum, or the subject line edited, to avoid setting a precedent.

Putting the word "Hummer" in the subject line does not automatically make it on-topic. If the content of the post is off-topic, the post is off-topic.

Obviously, H2-related messages should be posted to the H2 Forum and H3-related messages should be posted to the H3 Forum. Only H1 and HMMWV related messages should be posted to the H1 and HMMWV Forum.

Forum-related questions should be posted to the Forum-Related Questions Forum, not to any of the other forums. This is very important because that forum is set up to notify me when anything is posted there, so questions can be addressed promptly. If a forum-related question is buried in some topic in some forum somewhere, I may have no way of knowing it's there. I'm happy to answer questions, but I have to know they've been asked. Forum-related questions may not be answered if posted to any of the Hummer Forums.

The Marketplace has an area for Questions and Suggestions. Anything regarding the Marketplace should be posted there.

Please remember that anything you post to the Hummer forums also goes out to many hundreds of mailing list users via e-mail. Any message posted to an inappropriate forum may be moved.

Also, please be aware of what forum you're in before starting a new topic. The forum you're in is displayed right above the title bar. For example, this one shows:

Often, messages are posted to the Off-Topic forum which are clearly on-topic. If you're in the Off-Topic forum, you'll see this above the title bar and to the right of the "New Topic" button:

If you wish to post a message which is Hummer-related, please leave the Off-Topic forum and post it to the appropriate Hummer forum.

Just to clarify what belongs in the Off-Topic forum and what belongs in one or more of the Hummer forums, here's a simple rule-of-thumb:

If it is Hummer-related, it belongs in one or more of the Hummer Forums. Plain and simple. If it is related to Hummers, driving Hummers, Hummer maintenance, accessorizing Hummers, off-roading, military vehicles or anything that is commonly discussed on the Hummer forums, it is on-topic.

The Off-Topic forum is for things which are NOT related to Hummers in any way, shape or form. This would include things like jokes, politics, sports, computers and any number of other things.

The Off-Topic forum is not for Hummer-related messages you feel are not all that important. Relative importance has nothing to do with it. It's about relevance, not importance.

This is a very, very simple concept. It should not be difficult to understand, yet a few people seem to have trouble grasping it. You might read the Hummer forums and the Off-Topic forum for a while to get a "feel" for what is commonly posted to them.
