Over the last few days I've been increasingly getting this message when I refresh the forum page to check for new posts:

"phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database "

Refreshing a few more times usually gets me back to forum ok.
Also, when I get that message it's instantaneous, unlike a regular forum page which may take a second or two as the various adverts load.

IE8/Vista if that's relevant.

This is a known "fluke" which we've, so far, been unable to track down. When it happens it is very temporary. It will go away in a minute or so, often in a few seconds.

Not a serious problem. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks.
