When composing a message or reply, you'll see a button above the text box that says "Code". The general rule of thumb here is DON'T USE IT.
The Code function is for displaying programming code as text so it is not acted upon by the forum software. It is included in this forum software so it can be used for forums which are about programming.
For something like a Hummer forum, it's not of any use in the day-to-day discussions of Hummer-related topics. I've used it in this How-To forum, such as in the article about using the URL tags, to demonstrate how certain coding is done. Otherwise, it should not be used unless you have a specific purpose for using it and you know what you're doing.
Do not use the Code function to post URLs because it has the opposite effect of what you want. It renders a URL non-clickable. To post a URL, simply type or paste it into your message. The forum will automatically parse it into a clickable link.
Wrong:
Code: | http://www.humvee.net |
Notice the link is not an active, clickable link.
Right:
Just type or paste it into your message like this:
http://www.humvee.net
and it's a clickable link. _________________ Serving the Hummer community since 1996 |
